What counts as a game item?

A game item is a digital object represented inside a game or its connected inventory system. Some items affect play, while others are cosmetic. Transfer rules vary: an item may be freely tradeable, restricted by platform or region, locked for a period, or permanently bound to one account.

Before considering any third-party service, confirm that the exact item can be transferred through a method the game currently supports. A screenshot of an inventory does not prove that an item is transferable or available.

What does the player receive?

The expected outcome should name the exact item, quantity, variant, condition, platform, and destination account or character. Similar names and visual variants can cause mistakes, so compare the in-game details rather than relying on a cropped image.

How item delivery usually happens

Common methods include a direct player-to-player trade, an in-game gift, a marketplace listing created for a specific recipient, or game mail. Each method has different confirmation points and may involve fees, delays, or trade locks.

  • Confirm the recipient name and platform before the transfer.
  • Agree on the delivery method and any in-game fee.
  • Keep non-sensitive evidence of the agreed item and completed handover.

What information may be requested?

A normal item transfer uses public details only. It should not automatically require your password. If a method unexpectedly asks for credentials, stop and check whether a lower-access method exists.

  • Your public player name.
  • Your character name, so the item reaches the right character.
  • The server that character plays on.
  • The platform the account belongs to.
  • The region set on the account.

What can go wrong?

Any of the points below can increase risk. No checklist can guarantee that a transfer is permitted or irreversible.

  • The wrong item is sent, or it reaches the wrong recipient.
  • Region incompatibility between the two accounts.
  • A trade lock that blocks the transfer for a period.
  • Impersonation of a seller, a buyer, or support staff.
  • Chargeback-related reversal after the item has moved.
  • A request to move communication away from a documented channel.

Check publisher and platform rules

A game may technically allow trading while restricting real-money exchanges or certain transfer methods. Check the publisher’s current terms and support guidance for the game, platform, and region before acting. Search those pages for the words that decide this case: trading, real-money exchange, gifting, and transfer restrictions.

Lower-risk alternatives

Consider earning the item through normal play, using an official game store or trading system, or choosing a gift method that never exposes account credentials. The best alternative depends on why you want the item and what the publisher permits.

Beginner questions

Does item delivery require my password?

A direct trade or gift usually should not. Treat an unexpected credential request as a reason to pause and verify the method.

Is every tradeable item allowed to be sold?

No. Technical transferability and publisher permission are separate questions.
